I’m writing this post on my mobile phone while nursing.
Tip, tap, tip, tap go my thumbs against the mobile keyboard.
We are on vacay at a family oasis, filled with towering oak trees, a clear, blue pool, hot coffee in the morning – and piña coladas in the afternoon. There are aunts and uncles, cousins and babies. Card games at the big table – and toddlers on a big blanket.
We are spending our days in swimsuits – and our nights singing karaoke. It is a Memorial Day weekend spent creating memories.
So I am foregoing the lap top for a couple of days – and instead, focusing on what’s before me:
Family, food, love, (the occasional whining from both the kids and the adults), sandwiches by the pool, and a game of horseshoes by the trees.
This is the good stuff.
