Wanna know a secret?
(Shhh.)
It’s a secret recipe, passed down for generations.
(Well, one generation.)
It’s my Mom’s famous Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.
(They really are famous — ask anyone who knows her.)
And now, because I like you, I’m sharing this wonderful, change-your-life recipe with you.
(These cookies truly do make the world a better place.)
**
Cindy’s Famous Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Cream together:
1 cup real butter (salted) (2 sticks)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
Add:
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
–
–
Combine together:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
And add slowly to the creamed mixture as you are mixing it.
Add to mixture:
2 1/2 cups oatmeal (Not the 1 minute quick cook)
Add 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
–
–
Place by large spoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 9 or 10 minutes. (And make sure to lick the spoon!)
–
–
Every oven is different and the key is don’t over bake. Take them out of the oven just when they become lightly browned. As they cool, they will harden.
–
–
Enjoy one (or four) with a cold glass of milk. And be prepared to share.
–
–
Maybe they’ll be in your family for generations, too.
